God is so good!

June is proving to be a month of many changes here in Guanajuato...

Unlike MOST missions, the Central Mexico Mission of Guanajuato (which serves women and children who are or have been victims of domestic violence and has an evangelistic ministry as well) does not receive the financial support of any larger parent organization.

The vision of this mission is to serve victims of domestic violence and their families with the end goal of washing these families in the water of the Word until they are through the healing process; however long it takes and be reunited as the healthy family unit. We never encourage divorce, we DO encourage prayerful healing, salvation, love and respect.

Additionally, the LORD has opened up a new opportunity for me as a part-time professor at the UGTO teaching upper level English, He has guided me carefully in choosing the materials which we use and the topics which we discuss and write about and through that position I am able to share God's truths through the use of the Word.

I tell people that I am only guiding them to the Water, the students are already thirsting for the Truth... God does the rest!

I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints. Psalm 52:9

The pastor and his wife who have worked with this mission since April of 2009 announced on Sunday that they are stepping down and cannot say if they'll return to the ministry.

Today I spoke with a brother, friend and pastor whose church has supported this mission since its conception in October of 2008 and because we no longer have a "pastor" or "church" his church (the last church) which has been sending gifts to me here in central Mexico is very probably withdrawing its support.

In truth my personal needs require $1,500. USD /month for living expenses, medicines, insurance and transportation. Apart from that I have always tried to help the women who I work with to meet some of their needs which is why I have a job outside the mission. My income from work is $600/month. God has always done the rest!

The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. Sal 18:3  I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. Psalm 18:2-3

The brother has left me with much to think about and pray for; maybe the LORD has finished with me here in Mexico. Please keep us in prayer, I would hate to abandon the women and families I have been working with. It would be fulfilling a prophesy given by a local pastor here 4 years ago who said "never trust American missionaries they come in offer salvation and promises and before the work is done they lose interest and go home."
God bless you my friends brothers and sisters.

Update June 2013

God is so good! This past 5 months has flown by, it has been a wonderful time of planting and caring for those who are just getting to know the Word and coming into the realization of the True and Living God through relationship with Jesus Christ.

My focus has changed as God has been molding me into who He wants me to be. I no longer speak to people about religion at all; I only share the Word and the miracles I have experienced in my own life. The truth is what reaches the people... Everyone seems to have an innate desire to know God and to have relationship with Him; however, that desire is hidden in most people by their sin. If we focus on getting into relationship with God, identifying the sin isn’t as necessary as identifying that we are ALL sinners and that ALL sin is the same in God’s eyes. Once that is established, God seems to do the rest! I share, ask poignant questions which get people started looking and I’m there to point them in the right direction and answer questions.

Romans 5:1-2 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Ultimately, though the LORD is doing all the work while I pray for them and the ability to guide them in the direction that the Holy Spirit would send them and I wait upon the LORD to do all of the real work. God has given me a large toolbox from which to do my work and He has provided the students and the materials, He tells me which questions to ask to get people stimulated into searching for the answers. It has been such a thrill for me to be asked where in the Bible people can find the answers to their questions on any subject. I don’t know all the answers, but I am happy to say. “Let me check and I’ll send you what you need tonight.”

Hebrews 13:5-6 Conversation without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

God has been so faithful to provide every answer and for every need in His perfect timing! I have been very blessed. Please keep this mission in prayer; it is so financially poor that I will not be able to return to the states this year to recharge my spiritual batteries. I do not have the backing of any church or large organization just a shepherd’s heart to feed the flock and find the lost. God bless you my friends!

Remember if it is your desire to help this mission all donations are accepted through Agua Viva Christian Fellowship, checks must say in the “For” line FBO: Central Mexico Mission.
